April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, started taking guitar and piano lessons at age seven. The passion for songwriting was sparked. April's first song was Different. It was written when she was 12 years old. At the age of 14, April spent lots of time writing her lyrics, and perfecting her singing ability. Her writing began alongside her dad at home in NY and LA just a few months later. April began including other topics in her book Take My Hand to help those of her peers who struggled in the face of peer pressure, disability and even suicide. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer who is gaining a loyal audience. She works with popular brand Ilia through a collaboration, in addition to being a lifestyle expert. Disability is an aspect of her character, but it is not the whole of the picture. As a result Lockhart's Instagram profile does not shy away from her handicap, however it's not focused on it in any way. The message? The message? That we can all be multifaceted and our physical and mental identities may not be as they appear.
