Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her early Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. As the character Essie in You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of acclaimed actors and directors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford has been engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will be seen opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the musical. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment trial in more than 100 years. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first significant part. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. She has also appeared on Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original part as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and brought up in Denver, now spends time between Los Angeles and New York.
